Research, design, and manufacturing in engineering rarely take place in a disciplinary vacuum. A student pursuing a degree in one field must therefore become familiar with the fundamentals of the other fields in order to have a more complete picture both of her or his own area as well as of engineering as a whole. This course seeks to provide students pursuing majors outside of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a rigorous and targeted introduction to the concepts of ECE that will best complement their studies in their own department. A major part of the course will be centered on the Pratt ECE Department's theme of Integrated Sensing and Information Processing, or ISIP, with applications to sensors and mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
